Visiting the art museum from the monastery of Monserrat near Barcelona was an unexpected treat. The curator is well connected to the elite in the area and he has been able to acquire via donations one of the most spectacular collections in the country. From Sorolla to Julio Romero de Torres, the paintings in these rooms are truly stunning and well worth the visit. It is one of those hidden national hidden gems.
It is located to the left of the cathedral and for 10 Euros you can loose yourself in these rooms with delight. I highly recommend it.
